Centralized Solution Averts Merger Headache
Customer Profile:
Bank merger
Need:
Deploy a solution that would centralize the rollout of new software and hardware at the branches.
Solution Summary:
Active Directory deployment and Citrix MetaFrame XP rollout.
A mid sized bank was planning on an acquisition of another bank with 17 branches. They had dissimilar systems and needed a solution that could deploy quickly, require relatively little support once deployed, and would perform better and be available more often than their current systems. The system needed to be installed by a specific date with no room for error. Cooperative Systems designed an Active Directory based network at two main locations with redundant hardware and software systems at each location. The design was meant to sustain a major catastrophe at one location and allow all branch operations to continue running via failover technology. We provided a locked down Citrix MetaFrame desktop environment that quickly logged in teller and platform users at any and all branches. This thin client environment allowed the bank to deploy Office 2000 without visiting a single desktop, saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. The centralized approach was expected to save the bank over 2 million dollars in 5 years. Project management was so efficient that the rollout per branch could be performed in less than an hour with only two people. Training and full system documentation was provided.
